Malpais de Guimar

Malpaís de Güímar is a unique natural reserve on the eastern coast of Tenerife, characterized by its volcanic landscape. The name "Malpaís" translates to "badlands" and refers to the barren, lava-covered terrain. Despite the harsh conditions, some plants and animals have adapted to the extreme environment. You can find special lichens and mosses growing in the cracks of the lava, and some reptile species have made their home in this unique ecosystem.
